Niger Govt blocks Minna- Bida road for 6hrs rehabilitation work

Niger State Governor, Rt.Hon. Muhammed Umar Bago has called on road users to show understanding and co-oporate with the state government as it embarks on the rehabilitation of a failed section of the Minna-Bida road.
The Governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, said the six hours rehabilitation work will commence
from 12pm to 6pm on the 18th of July, 2023
He explained that the rehabilitation work has become necessary as a proactive step towards avoiding the yearly collapsing of multiple cell culverts on the road especially during rainy season.
Governor Bago assured the citizens of his commitment to infrastructural development in the state.
He urged commuters to use alternative routes; Bida-Zungeru-Minna road and Bida-Lapai-Minna road while the rehabilitation work last.
It would be recalled that for several years now the Minna- Bida road has witnessed many collapsed portions especially during the hight of rain fall annually leading to total cut off of the road in the past, an indication that the road needs complete reconstruction according to engineers findings.
