Saudi, Egypt to partner Kogi on agriculture, others

The Kingdoms of Saudi Arabia and Egypt are to partner with state government in the foreseeable future in areas of Health, Education and Agriculture to boost the socio-economic status of the state.

The indication was given in Lokoja yesterday when the Ambassadors of the two kindgoms disclosed this while paying a courtesy call on the Kogi state Governor, Captain Idris Wada.

The Saudi Arabia Ambassador to Nigeria, Ambassador Fourd Rajah Abdulazzez while speaking, said his country was ready to partner Kogi state in the area of Education and Agriculture, adding that their relationship with Nigeria is cordial; therefore they were ready to establish strong relationship with the state.

He said that there has been historiclally strong bilateral relationship between them and Nigeria; such that requires harmonious interaction that would ensure that the state benefit from the government of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Also speaking, the Egyptian Ambassador to Nigeria, Ambassador Ashraf Abdel Kader Salama said that they were very close in many ways with the state.

According to him, in the area of health sectors, Nigeria needs that for thousands of people, stressing that the Egyptian government despite the political situation facing Egypt they are set to partner the state in the area of agriculture, education and health.

In his respond, the Governor of Kogi state, Captain Idris Wada said that Kogi is a state with great potentials that call for synergy for tapping.

He noted that the state has open hands for cooperation with them in the three areas they want to partner the state, stressing that Private companies from Egypt and Saudi Arabia are welcome to the state.

“We have Rivers Niger and Benue which will be great help in the area of agriculture” he said.

He posited that the state government would be happy to collaborate with them in the area of Eye Medical services.
