NYSC strategic partner for quality education, Fintiri declares

The Adamawa state Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has described members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) as strategic partners in building quality education for the overall interest of the people of the state.
Fintiri stated this at the swearing-in ceremony of 1,100 2023 batch B stream 2 corps members deployed to the state for one year of mandatory national service.
Our correspondent reports that 1,100 NYSC members deployed to Adamawa state are expected to spend 3 weeks in Damare permanent orientation camp for rigorous drills by men o war and acquire extensive entrepreneurship skills to prepare for the task ahead.
Fintiri, who was represented by the chief of staff, government house Yola, Mr. Edgar Amos Sunday, congratulated the NYSC members for their successful graduation at the various tertiary institutions urging them to see their posting as a pillar of unity in diversity and to build an indivisible and egalitarian nation.
Also speaking, the Commissioner of Youth and Sports Development, Barrister Wali Yakubu, noted that white-collar jobs are no longer visible, urging the corp members to embrace the entrepreneurship skills programme in the camp to explore their potential.
On his part, the NYSC state coordinator, Denis Jingi, commended the Adamawa state government for its relentless support of the scheme.
He called on the corps members to avail themselves of all the activities of the camp and shun improperly dressing.
He added that they should be security conscious and productive members of the society.
