Healthcare: Adedolapo Fasawe assumes duty as 11th FCT-HES Mandate Secretary

Following the recent appointment and inauguration of political heads of Secretariats in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr. Adedolapo Fasawe has assumed duty as the 11th Mandate secretary of FCT Health and Environment Secretariat (FCT-HES), formerly known as Health and Human Service Secretariat (HHSS).
Recall that Fasawe, alongside six others were inaugurated by the FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike at a brief swearing-in ceremony Tuesday, following their appointments by the President Bola Tinubu, in Abuja.
Until her appointment as the Mandate Secretary of FCT-HES Dr. Fasawe was the General Manager of Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA). Also, as a Medical Doctor, she has practiced for many years and has attained medical degrees within and outside the country, like the prestigious London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Liverpool, Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife in Osun State and Lagos State University among others.
Speaking during the handing/ taking over ceremony held at the Secretariat, the news Mandate Secretary emphasized the need for team work amongst the top management staff of the Secretariat as a prerequisite to achieving success.
Fasawe assured that the Secretariat will take a new face and achieve giant strides under her leadership for service to humanity as well as improve health care service in the FCT especially in the area of Maternal mortality.
She however, commended the effort of the secretariat’s management staff, in ensuring a smooth handing over of the Secretariat’s affairs on her assumption of duty.
She also expressed her excitement towards the team spirit she observed amongst the management staff and encouraged them to continue in the same light.
While responding to a question from a staff on the new development of including environment to health as a Secretariat, Fasawe explained that “without a good environment you cannot have good health because your environment determines your well-being health wise.
Earlier at the ceremony, while presenting the hand-over notes to the Mandate Secretary, the Director Administration and Finance of the Secretariat, Mr. Malan Noel Haruna, described Dr. Fasawe as an achiever evident in her never taking “No for an answer”, but believes in exploring possibilities to tackle issues within in a time limit.
Haruna, who supervised the Secretariat as the Acting Secretary, enjoined all the management staff to support, cooperate and give their utmost best to the Mandate Secretary, in order to measure up and improve the health and environment of FCT as the capital city of Nigeria with global standard.
