Niger govt signs MoU with UNDP

Niger state government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the German foreign ministry and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) with a focus on achieving a sustainable peace and security.
The singing of the memorandum of understanding took place at the government house Minna.
Governor Bago explained that the signing of the MOU was necessary and timely as the state is faced with high banditry activities and interventions for partners was needed.
He also said the state has seven hundred thousand IDPs and sixteen local government ravaged and needed help at all cost, adding that the state is determined to use the un kinetic measures to tackle insecurity.
Earlier, the Resident Representative of the UNDP in Nigeria Mohammed Yahaya reiterated their commitment in partnering with the Niger state government to ensure relative peace.
