Police bursts kidnapping syndicate, kill one, rescue 3 in Adamawa forest

In an effort to reduce criminality, the Adamawa state police command has neutralized one suspected kidnapping suspect and rescued two victims unhurt.
The breakthrough was recorded on Sunday 01/10/2023 when an organised joint operation was carried out by the Command’s operatives attached to Gurin Division and local Hunters.
During the operation, one AK-47 rifle,25 rounds of live ammunition,4 sim cards,a handset ,chains and charms were recovered.
Spokesman of the Command,SP Sulaiman Njuroje in a press release issued in Yola Monday explained that the operation yielded the recorded successes due to the Command’s renewed commitment to enhance proactive strategies.
“The Command on 01/10/2023 disconnect a criminal network connecting part of Gurin, Muninga, Wuro Kesum,Parda, Boggel Districts of Gurin in Fufore local Government Areas.
“The operation, which was carried out by the Command’s operatives attached to Gurin Division in joint operation with Hunters yielded the successes recorded.
“The was part of a collaborative Community Policing/ Rescue Operations strategy adopted by the command to checkmate cases bordering on kidnapping, armed robbery, cattle rustling, unlawful possession of firearms, amongst others, where three children of Alhaji Maikano Adamu were kidnapped.
“The suspected kidnappers upon sighting our men engaged them in a gun duel; as a result, one (1) of them was neutralized, others escaped with bullet wounds.
“Interestingly, two of the victims Muhammed Maikano and Abubakar Maikano were rescued. One AK-47 rifle, 25 rounds of ammunition amongst others were recovered”.
The Commissioner of Police,CP Afolabi Babatola called on the populace to always inform the police of the whereabouts of criminals and their hideouts, especially those on the run with bullet wounds if seen.
