The FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike has declared that welfare of judges is paramount if the country actually want to win the battle against corruption.
Wike asserted this yesterday, while playing Host to the Chief judge of the FCT high court, Justice Hussein Baba-Yusuf, who was on a courtesy visit to his office, in Area 11, Garki-Abuja.
The Minister, who enjoined the Chief judge to make known to the FCT administration where necessary to intervene especially in the area of improving welfare of judicial officers, promised that his administration will build houses for judges at retirement.
He told the visiting judges led by the FCT high court Chief judge that welfare of judges is paramount if the country actually want to win the battle against corruption.
He also assures that the administration of renewed hope of president Bola Tinubu will bring back what he described as the good time that judicial officers are free from mental torture of poor working conditions.
However, the Minister drew the attention of his guests to growing indiscriminate court injunctions allegedly fueling swelling sharp practices especially in the land administration.
Responding, the FCT Chief judge, Justice Hussein Baba-Yusuf, said the issue of perpetual injunctions has been tackled, saying the judges under him have been directed that only his office can henceforth assign cases concerning land matters.
Justice Baba-Yusuf, maintained that perpetual injunctions is not good for the health of the FCT development.
