The National Coalition of All Progressive Congress (APC) in 19 Northern States, has petitioned the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, calling for the suspension of the Acting Managing Director of the Bank of Agriculture Alwan Ali Alhassan.
The National President of the coalition Dr. Gimba Maina, made this call on behalf of the members of the group while addressing newsmen in Kaduna, yesterday
Their petition was also copied to the office of the Vice President, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senate Committee Chairman on Agriculture, House Committee Chairman on Agriculture, DSS, and the EFCC.
They alleged that the MD has purchased a fleet of official vehicles worth over 250 million Naira for personal and unofficial use.
The group alleged that despite receiving a substantial sum of N10 billion from the Federal government in 2022, he failed to utilize the funds, following the Bank’s budget.
The group also accused the MD for non-payment of salaries from September to October.
The petitioners called for the constituting committee to thoroughly investigate the allegation they raised against the MD during his tenure.
All efforts to see the MD proved abortive as insiders at the office of the agency situated along the Yakubu Gowon Way, said he was out of the town.
