AMAC Chairman doles out scholarship to 1,024 students

The Executive Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) in the FCT, Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has doled out scholarship worth of N30m to 1,024 students across the 12 political wards in the area.
Maikalangu, who disclosed this in an interview with newsmen after the official flag-off ceremony for the disbursement of 2023 scholarship award to the students which took place at Apo town hall on Monday.
He revealed that next year some students would be sent to abroad to learn some skills in order to move AMAC and Nigeria at large forward technologically, adding that his leadership would continue to provide the scholarship for the students every year.
According to Maikalangu, this year’s scholarship is awarded to every tribe residing in AMAC irrespective of their political affiliations.
He assured the beneficiaries that he would not hesitate to increase the financial assistances of the students next year so as to encourage them in their studies.
The AMAC boss however, used the occasion to call on the investors residing in AMAC to contribute their quota towards the development and progress of the Area Council.
