Niger state government has threatened to sue the federal government over lack of compensation for using most of its resources from the state.
Governor Umar Muhammad Bago made this known during a courtesy visit by the National Commissioner for Refugees Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons at the government house Minna.
Governor Bago explained that the state needed to be compensated as well as deserved federal attention as it is presently faced with challenges ranging from bad infrastructures, insecurity, poor road network among others.
Earlier the National commissioner for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, Tijani Aliyu Ahmed said they were in Niger state to provide succor to 700 households, stressing that the state is one of the worst hit in north central faced with insecurity and natural disasters.
Tijani Aliyu Ahmed maintained that the Renew Hope Agenda of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration to Nigeria is not only for economy but to also serve for humanitarian purposes.
