Senate Seeks immortalization of late Ohinoye

Senate has called on the Federal Government to immortalize the late Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Dr Abdulralman Ado Ibrahim, just as a one minute silence silence was observed in his honour .

Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan (Kogi Central) officially informed the upper legislative chamber of the demise of the royal father and advocated that the federal college of education ,Okene be named after the late Ohinoye.

According to senator Akpoti, death struck the Ohinoyi Dr Abdulrahman Ado Ibrahim, on Sunday, 29th October, 2023 at an Abuja Hospital at the age of 94.

Extolling the virtues of the late traditional ruler, the senator said the late Ohinoyi proved to be a veritable bridge-builder, peacemaker and a social scientist who was more at home with analysis and actions.

She maintained that in several private conversations with illustrious sons of Ebira, “he always dismissed the acrimonious exchanges between the contending parties in the overall political contestations of Ebira land. Even when the Supreme Court in August 2015 affirmed his appointment as the Paramount Traditional Ruler of Ebira people, he chose to remain magnanimous in victory”.

“Before ascending the throne, Ado-Ibrahim was a very successful businessman. He established a . Nestle Nigeria Limited and became the founding Chairman”.
