The Concerned Citizens of the Taraba State on Wednesday called on Governor Agbu Kefas to ensure that round pegs are placed in round holes.
The party, it would be recalled, had ordered stakeholders spread across the state to forward a list of consensus candidates that would contest for the positions of chairmen and councillors in the council polls slated for November 18th, 2023.
Piqued by the development, the group, in a statement signed by its coordinator, Abdullahi Ishaya Dominic on Wednesday, called on the governor to urgently revisit the list of consensus candidates forwarded to him.
According to the statement “The proposed candidates ought to be people residing in the council and accessible to the people, the reverse has turned out to be the case.
“The candidate ought to be acceptable by the youths, elders and women, party stakeholders and the traditional institution.
“The candidates chosen for the upcoming council election, do not meet the requirements that warrant them to be selected as consensus candidates
“We want Governor Agbu Kefas to insert the right peg in the right hole before election day.” Statement added.
They also called on the governor to come out and address the people of the state over the decisions on the consensus candidates of the various local government areas.
