Kaduna Correspondents’ Chapel gets new EXCOs

The Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Kaduna has inaugurated the newly elected executive members to pilot its affairs for the next three years.
The new officials of the chapel were administered the oath of office on Thursday, October 23rd
The officials who were inaugurated returning unopposed by the credentials Committee include, Alhaji Abdulgafar Alabelewe, of the Nation Newspaper as chairman, Maryam Ahmadu Suka of Media Trust Vice
Chairman Ali Muhammad Sabiu of Tribune as Secretary, Habila Darofai of PLUS TV Assistant
Secretary, Gambo Abubakar of Legacy Newspaper Financial Secretary, Aisha Gambo, of NAN Treasurer, While Gbenga Oloniyo, of The Path Newspaper, is the auditor
The inauguration was officiated by the Chairman of Kaduna NUJ Council Asmau Yawo Halilu who advised them to carry all the members along while discharging their responsibilities.
Responding, the chairman, Alhaji Abdulgafar Alabelewe expressed appreciation to the state council chairman, Comrade for his untiring support for the chapel.
While describing the inauguration as historic in the chapel despite disagreements and heated political situations before the election, he expressed delight that it all came to an end with the support of the state council.
Alabelewe appreciated members of the chapel for reposing great confidence in his ability to lead the chapel and promised to be a servant leader.
He assured that he would operate a participatory and open-door administration where all members would contribute towards the advancement of the chapel. While describing the inauguration as historic in the chapel despite disagreements and heated political situations before the election, he expressed delight that it all came to an end with the support of the state council.
