KWASU produce 2 First-Class graduates among 349 others

The vice-chancellor of the Kwara State University (KWASU), Malate, Prof. Abdulrasheed Na’Allah has disclosed that the institution has produced two First-Class graduates among other 349 students that would convocate during this year’s academic session.

The vice –chancellor, who made the disclosure while briefing journalists on the up-coming second convocation programme of the institution, said 86 of the total number bagged Second-Class Upper degree, 193 had Second-Class Lower, while 68 had third class honour degrees.

He explained that the students are to be conferred with B.Sc., B.A. degrees in Humanities as well as BA in Agriculture.

The Vice-Chancellor said the institution, which commenced its lectures on December 17, 2009, had all its programmes in its colleges accredited.

He said, this year the Engineering department is expected to go through the accreditation exercise.

“Everyday we are moving closer to attaining the status of being classified as one of the finest institution in the world, as this is the only University in Nigeria offering Aeronautics and Astronautics”.

He maintained that the university has also entered into collaboration with other institutions in South Africa, to make Kwara state one of the tourist- attractive states in the country.

He said the institution has registered about 3,000 companies to give its graduates automatic employment, stressing that the institution’s graduates have no business in roaming the streets in search of jobs.

He assured that the University will continue to move in the direction of maintaining its slogans of ensuring its contribution to the development of its host community.
