The Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas has urged christians to avoid unnecessary traveling to safeguard lives.
Agbu gave the advised during the State broadcast in Jalingo, said Christmas is a time for deep reflection, gratitude, renewed hope, and moving forward together.
He implore Tarabans to reconsider their choices, for they are not only leading to personal consequences but also disrupt the peace that they all strive to maintain.
“However, I must express the cautionary note as we navigate this joyous time. While I understand the tradition of paying homage during this season, I urge caution in our movements.
“The current circumstances call for prudence, and we must be mindful of the importance of minimizing unnecessary travel to safeguard our lives and our communities’ well-being.
“I appreciate the sentiment behind the desire to come together, but the safety of our people remains paramount.
“Let us find alternative ways to express our unity and celebrate the season while ensuring the health and security of all.
“I want to reassure you that our dedicated security agencies, including Road Safety, have put measures in place to ensure safe travels.
“However, I urge each one of you to exercise caution and follow the guidelines that may be provided by the security agencies.”
