Suspension of Betta Edu vindicates Matawalle —AYCF President

The President of the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF), Alhaji Yerima Shettima, has said the suspension of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu, vindicated the ex-governor of Zamfara State, Bello Muhammad Matawalle who once warned that the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu era will have zero tolerance to corruption.
While reacting to the news of the suspension in Kaduna yesterday Alhaji Shettima commended President Tinubu, saying this is a sign that it won’t be business as usual for those who loot or mismanage the Commonwealth of the country.
According to him, it is enough proof to show that President Tinubu meant business when he announced that he was going to rid the nation of corruption.
In comparison to the previous Government, he said the recent actions of the President have announced his seriousness in keeping his promises to the nation, as governors ministers and other appointees will buckle down to put their best in discharging their duties to the people.
He opined that those who viewed the President to be as tolerating as the past President who permitted their excesses and still engaged in corrupt acts should prepare for a shock because there was a new Sheriff in town.
“Honestly, I am very happy with the actions of Mr President and I commend him for a good job done in favour of the people. If I say otherwise, then I am lying because this has vindicated Matawalle.”
“We can all recall when Matawalle said that if it’s the same Tinubu that he knows, a person he knows personally, then Nigerians should prepare for serious business.”
“Yes, we can see and attest to the truth that indeed, a new Sheriff is in town. I will, therefore, encourage him to shine the safe light on other sectors too, so that corrupt practices can be stopped.”
