Adamawa: 3 Hotel staff nabbed over alleged ritual killing

The Adamawa police command has apprehended three suspects in connection to a case of alleged ritual killing of a yet to be identified lady at a hotel in Yola.
Spokesman of the command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Ngoruje, who confirmed this to our correspondent via phone on Friday, said detectives attached to the command apprehended three hotel staff including ; Offer Jacob and Yifarta Caleb (Receptionists) and a security guard,Habibu Isah.
Ngoruje explained that the arrested staff with a hotel named Happy day Guest inn’s annex, situated at Karewa Borehole of Yola North Local Government area of the state are helping the police interrogators with useful information.
Ngoruje also revealed that some drugs and a handset phone suspected to belong to the deceased were recovered at the scene of the crime assuring that, the command is doing everything possible to arrest the perpetrator of the heinous crime.
According to him, the suspected ritualist in company of the deceased lady lodged into the said hotel, on Thursday evening (18th January 2024) by 99:00 pm as guests but after a while left telling the receptionist on duty that he was out to buy some needs.
He added that the ritualist’s delay in coming back to his lodged apartment raised suspicion, leading to the breaking of the room’s door only to be welcomed by the deceased lady’s gory and mutilated body without a head.
Similarly, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola has strongly condemned the brutal killing of the lady in a hotel ordering an immediate investigation into the matter to apprehend the perpetrator and collaborators of the dastardly act for prosecution.
In a press statement, the CP Babatola cautioned hoteliers to report people of questionable characters to the police for immediate action warning that the killing of innocent citizens would no longer be tolerated under whatever guise.
The police Boss appealed for calm as the top management of both security agencies are doing everything legally possible to arrest the culprit.
