Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited has refuted media claims of biases in pipeline protection contracts in the Niger Delta region.
The company challenges those making these allegations to a roundtable discussion to examine Pipeline Infrastructures Nigeria Limited’s outstanding performance, backed by concrete facts and figures.
In a statement signed by Prince Benson Onuwaje, the Delta State Coordinator of Pipeline Infrastructures Nigeria Limited, and Akpos Mezeh, PRO of Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited, the allegations were dismissed as unsubstantiated and spurious.
The company, rejecting the fabricated news, emphasized its unwavering commitment to delivering services, adding value for money, and ensuring land security.
The statement clarified that the primary goal is to secure contracts for smooth cargo delivery to various terminals, including pumping NNPC lines from Escravos to the refinery in Warri and beyond.
“We do not shy away from scrutiny; instead, we challenge the real instigators behind these falsehoods to reveal their true identities. This will allow us to invite them to a roundtable engagement with the relevant authorities, where we can discuss the exceptional performance of Pipeline Infrastructures Nigeria Limited, supported by concrete facts and figures.
“We will also highlight our achievements acknowledged by employers and government at various levels in the Niger Delta, particularly regarding pipeline security and surveillance, resulting in improved crude oil and gas production. Faced with these accomplishments, we hope they will not retreat in shame.
“We unequivocally state that Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited remains committed to excellence, particularly along the coast of the Niger Delta, confident that our operations significantly contribute to the region’s development.
“Our journey included proof of concepts spanning seven months before payment was received. When NNPC approached us again, this time regarding MM40, we initiated another proof of concept starting on November 27, 2018. By June 2019, payments commenced.”
The statement reiterated the fundamental principle that the Niger-Delta belongs to all, emphasizing the company’s commitment to benefiting communities and providing services to the youth in the region.
” As part of engagement, the company has provided boats and created employment opportunities for youth in communities along its right of ways and others in the catchment areas.
“These resources are integral to our operations and underscore our dedication to community development,” the statement said.
