S’Court judgement on Nasarawa guber election affirmation of peoples’ choice – Commissioner

Nasarawa state commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development Hajiya Aisha Ruffai Ibrahim has described the judgement of the supreme Court that upheld the re-election of Abdullahi Sule as Nasarawa state governor to be the affirmation of the votes of the people on the 18th March, 2023 gubernatorial election.
The commissioner who stated this while in an interview with newsmen on Sule’s victory at the apex court, in Lafia, the state capital, called on the opposition party, PDP to give ample support to his administration, in order to enable him continue with his good plan geared toward the transformation of the state in the spheres of physical infrastructures.
“I am appealing to the people of Nasarawa state to be loyal to the governor and support him to govern the state for the interest of all. He has governed the state with integrity,and transparency, as he is a focused person.
“ So, there is the need for us to continue to accord him the atmosphere of peace in order to attract more dividends of governance in his second term, just as witnessed in his first tenure”, she said.
The commissioner, who further expressed confidence in the administration of Abdullahi Sule, added that the governor has ran an inclusive government in his first tenure by carrying women and youth along especially in terms of employment, empowerment and skill acquisition, assuring that he will do more in his second tenure.
“ Because a lot of women and youth have gained Employment in the state. What we expect is that His Excellency will do more again. We will keep advocating for the participation of women in government because he is a listening leader” Aisha maintained.
She opined that the election matter has been put to rest in the state , hence the need for the opposition party PDP to come together and join hands with the governor which is pertinent so as to move the state peacefully and developmentally to the next level for the interest of all, as no meaningful development can strive in an atmosphere of disunity.
