An Estate Surveyor and Valuer, ESV. Chinyelu Egbe said Valuation of properties is an important aspect before sales of property/ properties
ESV. Egbe told our reporter that Valuation is the act of placing value on a property.
According to her, this value is affected by different factors such as location, age, use among others.
She explained that the only person allowed to handle valuation in Nigeria is an Estate Surveyor and Valuers.
“In these perilous times of inflation in Nigeria. One needs to be in tune with the going rates so you don’t lose money by selling your property below the actual value”.
She emphasized that,”Before you sell your property, you are advised to seek the professional advice of a Valuer to give you the value of the property as at that day and period.
“Valuation done 2 years earlier won’t be valid again. The condition which the property is today is not the same as at 2 years ago. It could be more or even less in value that is why the Valuer should be contacted”.
