Niger govt reaches agreement with Labour

Niger State Government and the Organized Labour have reached an agreement on all issues that led to industrial action by the Labour Union in the State.
Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago stated this while speaking to Journalists shortly after a closed-door meeting between the State Government and Organized Labour at the Government House, Minna.
The Governor revealed that all pending issues have been resolved, pointing out that most of the issues were inherited from previous governments.
He said there was a mutual understanding during the meeting and resolutions were reached, leading to the signing of agreement by the parties involved.
The State NLC Chairman, Comrade Abdulkareem Lafene who also addressed journalists collaborated on what the state government said.
He disclosed that a tripartite committee comprising representatives from the State government, State House of Assembly and the Organized Labour has been set up to look at the laws on the issue of appointments of Executive Directors among others with a view to finding lasting solution to the issue.
The group has equally expressed its determination to work, relentlessly, towards the actualisation of a PDP Presidency come 2027 and beyond.
The PDP Rescue Mission International said this in a statement on Wednesday by its Chairman,Directorate of Diaspora and Foreign Missions, Bashorun Jones Oladele and its United Kingdom Chairman, Chief Success Chidi in Abuja.
According to the group, “our vision therefore is to promote constitutionality and respect for the rule of law within the PDP and by extension Nigeria.
“Our mission here is to reform, rebuild and return PDP to its winning ways by ensuring that in the eyes of it’s members and the public, PDP is seen as a rules based political party, distinctly different from others and fully aligned to the promotion of her constitution and that of the Country.
“Our mandate is to strategically engage all distinguished diaspora community leaders and grassroots mobilizers across the 774 Local Government Areas of Nigeria to drive into the mental psyche of our members an orientation campaign to ensure character, competence and credibility”, the statement said.
Already, an online meeting by the group was held on Sunday to officially declare the it open for critical engagements to move PDP and Nigeria forward.
The Guest Speaker for the Council meeting was Hajiah Maryam Inna Ciroma, former PDP National Woman Leader and erstwhile Minister for Women Affairs.
Hajia Ciroma thanked the Diaspora Community Leaders for such an “amazing and timely interventions especially at such a time as this”.
