The management of Air Peace says flights across its network will be delayed due to a bird strike on an aircraft belonging to the firm.
A bird strike is a collision between a bird and an aircraft which is in flight or on a takeoff or landing roll.
In a statement on Thursday, Air Peace said the bird strike occurred on one of its operating aircraft in Uyo.
The airline empathised with passengers whose flights were impacted by the unexpected development, adding that it would take caution to minimise disruptions.
“We hereby notify the flying public that due to a bird strike on one of our operating aircraft in Uyo today, some flights across our network will be delayed,” the statement reads.
“We empathise with passengers whose flights have been affected by this unexpected development and we are doing everything possible to minimise the disruption.
“Air Peace reaffirms its full commitment to safety.”
On April 9, 2023, an Abuja-bound plane belonging to Air Peace was affected by a bird strike while landing.
A similar incident also occurred when an Owerri-bound aircraft belonging to the airline made an emergency landing due to a bird strike.
The plane was said to return to Lagos for an emergency landing.
