The All Progressives Congress (APC) has charged the Muslim Ummah to use the Holy month of Ramadan for deep reflections, spiritual rejuvenation and greater devotion to Allah.
The party in a goodwill message issues by the National Publicity Secretary, Barr. Felix Morka on Monday said the period should be a period of prayers for the development of Nigeria and for peace, unity and progress of the country.
Morka added that Nigerians should make the best of the season with the holy Ramadan which is period of fasting for the Muslims and the Christian fasting period taking place at the same time, saying this signifies that the country is truly in the hands of God.
“Ramadan marks the commencement of a month-long fasting on the Islamic calendar. It is a season of renewed devotion to Almighty Allah, and service to nation and humanity.
“As this year’s Ramadan commences, our great Party urges prayers for Nigeria’s prosperity, security and unity. It also behoves us to pray for our leaders at all levels, and extend love and care to the less-priviledged around us”.
“We pray Almighty Allah to imbue in our Islamic faithful the spirit of sacrifice, humility, mercy and kindness”.
The ruling party further expressed the hope that the that the lessons and blessings of Ramadan will not only rest on all Nigerians but also redirect them to the path of national unity and peace.
