Abdulsalam elected new IPAC Chairman in Kogi

The Kogi State Chapter of Inter-Party Advisory Council, (IPAC) yesterday elected Mallam Iliyas Badanga Abdulsalam as its new Chairman.
The election, which took place at the office of Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), headquarters in Lokoja, was monitored by INEC officials.
At the end of the election, Abdulsalam scored 12 votes while the second contestant, Mr Medupin Ephraim, got 4 votes.
In his acceptance speech, Abdulsalam said, “I promise to hold dearly this great position of trust and responsibility unanimously reposed on me by various political chairmen in the state.
“I will uphold the IPAC ideal of integrity, professionalism, and defend the public Interest. I will not betray this invaluable trust, no matter the price, Insha Allah.”
He assured political parties that participated in the process that he will be fair and just, in order to advance the course of democracy.
