No fewer than 60 cows were on Monday reportedly killed while 30 others got injured in Jol village, of Riyom local government area in Plateau state.
The Plateau state chapter of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN), through its chairman, Alh. Haruna Boro Hussaini, described the incident as unfortunate and condemnatory.
However, the incident is coming when the Fulani and Berom visited Governor Jonah Jang to resolve their differences last Friday.
The chairman said, “We have reported the matter to the Special Task Force and their men attempted to enter the community but they were engaged in a gun battle by the youths.
“After our meeting with Center for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) , the Fulani and our Berom brothers were advised to meet and iron out our issues.
Confirming the incident, the Special Task Force (STF) Media and Information Officer of STF in the state, Captain Ikedichi Iweha said the Task Force Commander, Major General David Eniete had gone to the area to see for himself what has happened, adding that 60 cows were killed.
