*Preaches love, sacrifice at Easter

The Chairman of Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has expressed the firm optimism that the nation will overcome its current prevailing socio-economic and security challenges through collective effort and divine intervention.

Gov Yahaya expressed the optimism in his goodwill message to Christians in Gombe state and worldwide as they celebrate this year’s Easter festivities.

The NSGF Chairman, who acknowledged the current distress faced by the nation amidst security threats and socio-economic strains, occasioned by the recent removal of fuel subsidies and global economic downturn. Nevertheless, urged the citizens to find solace in the blessings of Easter and work towards sustainable peace and development.

He urged religious leaders to continue to utilize their platforms to promote peace, tolerance, and unity among Nigeria’s diverse population.

The Governor advocated for prayers for sustained peace and stability in Gombe State, Northern Region and Nigeria as a whole.

He emphasized the significance of unity, brotherhood, and service to God and humanity during and beyond the Easter period.

Gombe, highlighted the essence of Easter, which, according to him, symbolizes love, sacrifice, and the triumph of good over evil.

He urged Christians to reflect on these core principles and integrate them into their daily lives.

The Governor, in the statement, said, “I extend warm congratulations to our Christian brethren for completing the Lenten Season and celebrating Easter. “We are grateful to the Almighty for granting you the strength to go through this significant spiritual journey.

“May the blessings of this period rejuvenate our nation and steer us towards lasting peace, progress and prosperity”, he said.

The Governor wished the Christian faithful “a peaceful and joyous Easter celebration”, expressing hope that “the blessings of the season would pave the way for a brighter future for both Gombe State and the nation at large”..
