JAMB CBT: Zero hitches recorded in Kaduna

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB,) Computer-Based Test (CBT) commenced in Kaduna State, Yesterday without any form of disturbance or disruption as students were seen trooping into the CBT Centres.
A visit to some of the CBT Centres along Tafawa Balewa way by this reporter shows candidates arriving as early as 6:30 am in their hundreds to be screened before proceeding for the test while some men of the Civil Defense and the vigilantes were available to maintain law and order at the Centres.
On another visit to the Kad-well centre in Barnawa, a similar story was shared as the Gumi College CBT Centre also in Kaduna South LGA where students were denied access to the Centre for not presenting their Reprint Slip.
It was gathered that the above actions were taken to maintain law and order that will ensure the security of the students and also ensure discipline at the various centres.
At the time of filing the report, most centres had concluded with the test and some students who were interviewed by Peoples Daily Weekend expressed satisfaction with the process.
It will be recalled that JAMB had given an order for the arrest of any parent seen around the CBT Centre adding that not only will an arrest be made but his/her ward would also be disqualified from sitting the examination.
According to the Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, “This measure is necessary as it has been discovered over time that many of these intruding parents are facilitators of examination infractions while others have, by their actions, disrupted the Board’s examinations in the past.
“Some miscreants also disguise themselves as parents to infiltrate the centres to perpetrate all forms of infractions.”
