A staff of the Benue State University, BSU identified as Mathew Chile has been reportedly kidnapped along the Makurdi – Naka road by unknown gunmen.
According to reports the the incident occurred on Sunday at about 6pm, when Chile in company of his wife and four of his siblings were driving to Makurdi from Naka in his Toyota Corolla vehicle.
The reports stated that all efforts to reach Chile on his phone number proved unsuccessful and no word has been heard from him, his wife or any of his siblings who were with him as at the time of the attack.
When contacted the University Head of Information, Mr. Tse Vanger confirmed it but said he does not have details of the incident.
While Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO SP Catherine Anene said she got informed that one BSU staff was kidnapped.
Said she “they call him Prince Chille. I do not know his department. But investigation is already on about the incident”.
