Niger NLC urged govt to stop NiCare deductions

The Niger state Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Idrees Abdulkareem Lafene urged the State government to as a matter of urgency stop monthly deductions from workers salaries for the State Health Insurance Scheme (NiCare),
Comrade Lafene made this known while delivering his address to mark the 2024 International Workers Day event.
He explained that 1st May has been a day of commemoration and protest for workers rights.
On his part, the Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has directed for the immediate implementation of new minimum wage increase as announced by the federal government in commemoration of 2024 Workers Day.
