Niger Police parades 2 suspected ATM card swappers, recovers 42 cards

Niger State Police Command said it arrested two suspects who specialized in ATM Card Swapping in Bida, Bida local government area of the state.
The command in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO SP Wasiu Abiodun, said during interrogation the suspects confessed to have removed four hundred thousand naira after swapping ATM with a victim in Bida.
The command further said the suspects are under investigation, saying they will be prosecuted as soon as investigation is concluded.
According to him, “Police operatives attached to A Division Bida arrested two suspects to include; Philip Adefemi and
Joseph Micheal both of Masaka area of Nasarawa State.
“As a result of this, a person behind the victim at the ATM gallery requested to assist him, and in the process, unknown to the victim that his card has been swapped. A few minutes later, he received a debit alert of N400,000
“On reciept of the complain Police operatives of the Div swung into action and arrested the suspects, while one Bala escaped. In the course of preliminary investigation, forty-two ATM cards were recovered from the suspects including that of the victim, and a Mercedes-Benz C230.”
