The National President of Agro-allied Commodities co-operatives of Nigeria (ACCON), Prof. Hajarat Victoria Adesuyi, has urged the farmers of ACCON to open bank accounts with the Bank of Agriculture (BOA) in their states for loan benefits/commercial farming.
Adesuyi stated this in an interview with newsmen on the preparedness of this year’s farming season on Monday in Abuja.
He also said if the farmers open accounts with BOA, it would pave the way for them to hire tractors at subsidize rates.
She further informed the farmers that Agro-allied processing machines of various commodities would be distributed to the farmers who opened accounts with BOA from state to state.
According to ACCON President, training of youths and women from state to state basis for Agro-allied activities as well as Agricultural businesses will be given a top priority.
She then called on the Agro-allied farmers or members of NACCON to make sure they pay their annual dues/entry fees into the NACCON National Accounts for the sake of transparency.
She, however, urged the Agro-allied farmers in Nigeria to submit their proposals to NACOON Chairman in their states for quick action, saying that the leadership of NACOON is ready to co-operate with the Federal Government to move the Agricultural sector forward.
