Salako advocates more climate centric for environmental health to address challenges

The State minister for
environment, Iziaq Adekunle
Salako, has advocated
for more climate centric for
environmental health and health
workforce to address challenges .
Salako stated this at the 77th World Health Assembly in
Geneva, as a panelist in a session
titled; “Climate Change and
Health Finance Dialogue”.
He said there is a need for
raising more climate centric for
health workforce, integrating
community health and
environmental health at the
grassroots for more mileage in
addressing the heavy challenge.
He said those heavy challenges
of climate change are disease
burden, healthcare access and
services.
The minister emphasized
that climate change has become
a profound public health issue
disrupting the health system in
ways beyound most epidemics.
The 77th World Health event
was co-hosted by WHO, Global
Fund, COP28 Presidency, Clinton
Health Initiative, AMREF, Green
Climate Fund and Foundation.
