Jigawa gov’t begins distribution of free drugs to Orphans, PWDs, elderly others

The Jigawa State Government through Ministry for Local Government and Community Development has launched a programme to distribute essential drugs to vulnerable persons and families across the state.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer ministry for Local Government and Community Development comrade Najib Umar and made it available to news men in Dutse.
According to the statement, the programme was piloted at three wards health clinics of each local government (LGA), and today the distribution of the second batch of drugs will cover another three wards per LGA. This will number to cover six wards of all the LGAs in the state.
It maintained that, the programme aims to provide access to essential drugs to vulnerable families who cannot afford them.
In particular, the statement identified the beneficiaries of the programme to include under five children, pregnant mothers, elderly persons, retired civil servants, orphans, people living with disability (PWD), people living with HIV, and sickle cell disorder.
It added that the distribution of essential drugs will help to improve the health outcomes of vulnerable families in Jigawa State. The program is part of the state government’s commitment to ensuring that all citizens have access to quality healthcare services.
“In his remark during the procession, the Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development Hon Ahmed Garba MK Stated that the State Government through the Ministry is committed to ensuring that vulnerable families in Jigawa State have access to essential drugs.
“The program will continue to be rolled out across the state, reaching more families in needs”, the statement said.
