Gombe NIMC urges residents to enroll for national identity exercise

nimc-newThe National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) in Gombe state, has called on residents in the area to come out en-mass and register for the National Identity Card.

The state coordinator of the Agency Mr. James Mamza, who disclosed this to newsmen yesterday, in Gombe, also assured the residents that the commission will do its best to capture everybody in the state.

According to him, the agency has made a tremendous impact of registering 500 people daily, with a view to encourage every citizen to register.

Speaking further, the coordinator said there was need for every Nigerian to register so as to enable government to identify them as true citizens of the country.

He explained that only those aged 16 and above are mandated to register during the exercise, even as he said government would not allow any citizen below the age of 16 to register.

He called on people who have registered in the Commission to be patient as, according to him, the agency is making frantic effort to ensure that the distribution of cards reach them in good time.
