Group calls for intervention in Kwara PDP

Ahead of the 2015 general election, a group, Kwara Unity for Freedom, has called on the national leadership of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to reposition the party in the state to enhance its success in future elections.

The group bemoaned what it called neglect and apathy by stakeholders of the party at the national level, saying a quick intervention will put the party in Kwara state on a sound pedestal.

Speaking at a news conference yesterday in Abuja, Interim Chairman of the group, Comrade Ayo Olorunfemi said “It is worrisome that Kwara state lacks adequate institutional representations at the federal level. Those who claim to represent us are not genuine PDP members”.

He urged the federal government led PDP to accommodate what it described as loyal party members and not those masquerading and parading themselves as members in day time whereas they have ideology different from the PDP.

Continuing, he urged President Goodluck Jonathan to bring on board from the state, faithful party members who are committed to the transformation agenda of the federal government.

Olorunfemi however berated leaders of the party from Kwara state who are beneficiaries of the party but today are allegedly engaged in anti party activities.

Meanwhile, he applauded the national chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu and members of the national working committee (NWC) in their efforts to reconcile party members and entrench internal democracy in the party.
