Following the expiration of the tenure of Local Government Elected Officials, the Jigawa State government through Ministry for Local Government and Community Development has announced the dissolution of 27 elected Local Government Areas chairmen.
This was contained in a statement signed by Public relations officer of the ministry, comrade Najib Umar, and made it available to news men.
According to the statement, the ministry for local government and community development has directed the Director Administration and General Services (DAGs) of all the 27 Local Governments of the state to take over the affairs of administration of the Local Government from “today; 28/06/2024.”
It added tgat all appointed officials including; Secretaries, Supervisory Councillors, Special advisers and assistants of all the Local Government Councils are equally relieved of their appointments.
“On behalf of the Jigawa State Government Under the leadership of the Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi FCA, the Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development Hon. Ahmed Garba MK, congratulates the outgoing officials on the Successful Conduct of their tenures, which shows the significant contributions rendered to the development of their areas and the state in general.
“He further called on them for immediate handing over of all Governments’ Belongings in their possessions”, the statement read in part.
