The Nation Orientation Agency (NOA) has urged the communities along Hadejia river line in 12 local government areas in Jigawa state to be vigilant and ensure safety measures against the focus flooding as the raining season enters its peak.
This was contained in a statement, signed by the state director of NOA and made available to news men through his Public relations officer Miss Sera Ogodo in Dutse, the state capital.
“The State Director of the Agency, Malam Ahmad Tijjani Ibrahim reminded the communities and general public that the annual weather forecast indicates that the state is likely to experience heavy rainfalls in the coming weeks.
“In line with weather prediction by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET), the agency has urged citizens especially those residing in lowland areas/communities to be vigilant and always heed to the safety measures as provided by the authority to mitigate the impacts of flood”.
