The Acting Director-General, the Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Department (FEMD),, Mrs. Florence Wenegieme tasked its staff to keep abreast of modern work ethics and innovations in service.
Wenegieme gave the charge while declaring open a capacity building programme for staff on grade levels 8-13, in Abuja.
She explained that new policies and programmes have been introduced into the civil service and enjoined staff of FEMD to adapt.
“Training is important as a civil servant, you need to be up-to-date. New things are being introduced in the public service. You need to key in”, the FEMD boss added.
She therefore urged participants to take the training session seriously to improve on service delivery.
Ealier in his remarks at the event, the FEMD’s Acting Director of Administration,Azeez Kadiri described the training as apt, because, according to him, it would enable FEMD staff as public officers to recommit themselves to the civil service.
He opined that professionalism, accountability, and transparency were hallmarks of effective service delivery.
