The Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Ms Didi Walson -Jack has urged all civil servants to ensure they are computer literate under the current digitalization program as there will no place for those who are not in the nearest future.
Ms. Walson Jack, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Common Services, Office of Head of Civil Service, Mr. Raymond Omachi gave the urge in Abuja during a supervisory visit to different centres of Compulsory Confirmation Promotion Examination for junior cadre of public servants recruited two years ago across the nation.
She said the online examination, was conducted successfully as a result of a collaboration between of office of the head of service and the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) as a way to make the process transparent.
“I want to thank JAMB for this seamless exercise they are doing, they are doing a great work. They even took us to their server room to show us how they are monitoring the process. We are using this online process to make it transparent and what we are seeing has convinced us that we are actually going to get that result.
“I told them that for you to be relevant in today’s civil service under the digitalization program, you must be digital, you must be computer literate so there is no place for those who are not computer literate” she added.
Also speaking, permanent secretary career services of the office of the (HoS) Mrs Fatimah Mahmod said they are partnering with JAMB because of their track record and also because there is a need to entrench integrity and also ensure that everything is done transparently.
According to her “this examination is the confirmation of those that were recruited and have stayed two years in service to make sure that they have acquired enough information, knowledge and skills to be able to progress in the career.
