 To improve the work of the Fire Service in Yobe, the state government has procured and distributed 25 new vehicles across the state.

The vehicles, which were procure by the state and local government joint account, were purchased at the total cost of N163.2 million, as each one cost the sum of N9.6 million.

While launching the vehicles, the state governor, Alh. Ibrahim Gaidam directed that each of the 17 local government councils be given one vehicle, while the state government got eight.

He equally warned the beneficiaries, especially at the local governments, to avoid misuse and abuse of the property either for fetching water and selling to the public as experience has shown or through wrong driving but to strictly observe good maintenance culture for long-term benefit of the vehicles.

The governor has also donated a new Toyota HIACE vehicle to the Nigeria Union of Journalist, Yobe state branch.

While handing over the keys of the vehicles to the chairman of the union, comrade Mohammed Bedu, at the Government House, he called on journalists to be objective in their reporting of government activities and without either exaggeration or belittling of the state government activities.
