The hierarchy of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has boasted that the party is positioning itself to become a credible alternative for Nigerians because the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were nosediving into unpopularity.
Speaking at the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party which held Monday in Abuja, the 2023 Presidential candidate of the party, Dr Rabiu Kwankwaso, and the Chairman Board of Trustees (BoT), Engr. Buba Galadima, insisted that the NNPP will soon become the party to rely on in Nigeria.
Kwankwaso said ; “Despite all the challenges, our party is the fastest growing party in Nigeria.
“In Katsina, I said the PDP was dead and people raised eyebrow. If they didn’t believe then, they should have known now.
“APC, all of us believe, they are performing very badly, especially, in the fight against insecurity, poverty, hunger. Thank God the two parties are going down and our party is going up”.
Also speaking, Engr. Galadima noted “while other parties are faltering, people are flocking into the NNPP.
“There is no growing party in NIgeria like NNPP. Our party enforces discipline that all levels of the party, we follow the rules without faltering.
“There is no other party with quality leadership like the NNPP and that is why they are jealous of us”.
He further called for the neutrality of the part of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), urging the electoral management body not to be intimidated by political office holders because such positions are transient.
In his remarks, National Chairman of the party, Dr Ajuji Ahmed expressed satisfaction that the party had embarked in membership drive with a good number of Nigerians trooping into the NNPP.
Ahmed noted; “at some point, the party took hard decisions. We have taken swift decisions to dissolve executive committees in five states and instituted caretaker committees (CTCs)”.
The Chairman called on the CTCs to brace up and bring good leadership to the party while calling on the rank and file of the party to be loyal to the leadership of the party.
