Coalition Northern Forum Praises Matawalle’s Peace Efforts in Sokoto

Arewa Coalition Northern Forum has lauded the significant progress and tranquillity observed in Sokoto State since the intervention of the Honourable Minister of Defence, Bello Matawalle.

This recognition followed the minister’s leadership of a high-profile delegation of security agencies to the region.

In a statement issued on Wednesday ,the Chairman of group , Abdul Hamid Shadakori, expressed his deep appreciation for the efforts led by Matawalle, stating that the minister’s commitment has brought a renewed sense of peace and stability to the area.

“For the first time in a long while, we can sleep with both eyes closed, free from the anxiety that once gripped our communities,” Shadakori remarked.

He went on to commend the Minister of Defence for his unwavering dedication to the fight against banditry, Boko Haram, and other security challenges that have plagued not just Sokoto but the entire northern region.

According to Shadakori, the people of Sokoto State are already reaping the benefits of Matawalle’s hard work and the visionary leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“There is no doubt that President Tinubu made an excellent choice in appointing Bello Matawalle to such a crucial role within his cabinet,” Shadakori stated, adding that in just one year, Matawalle’s achievements in combating insecurity have surpassed those of previous administrations.

The forum stressed that Matawalle has implemented a more decisive and effective strategy in addressing the long-standing security issues faced by northern communities.

While acknowledging that critics may attempt to downplay these accomplishments, Shadakori insisted that no one can deny the tangible progress that has been made.

He urged President Tinubu to continue his support for Matawalle, describing the Defence Minister as a “national asset” whose work should not be derailed by political distractions or attempts to politicise the security situation, especially in relation to the upcoming 2027 elections.

Meanwhile, Shadakori reaffirmed the forum’s steadfast support for both President Tinubu and Minister Matawalle, expressing confidence that their continued leadership will lead to lasting peace and prosperity for Nigeria as a whole.
