The new director for the Federal Capital Territory Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Board, (FCT-MPWB), Kadiri Edah has resumed duty, after taking over the mantle of leadership of the board from Mallam Abubakar Adamu Evuti.
Speaking at a maiden staff meeting, Edah called on staff of the Board to be honest and dedicated to work in the course of discharging their duties.
According to a statement from Public Relations Officer (PRO), FCT- MPWB, Muhammad Lawal Aliyu, the director stressed the need for staff to be dedicated to their duty and warned against any act capable of tarnishing the image of the board, the FCT Administration and the country at large.
He solicited for the cooperation of all staff and other stakeholders to ensure the success of the hajj operations in line with the desired objectives of the present Administration.
He stressed the need for the staff to be dedicated to their duty and abide by rules and regulations of the service, adding that the Administration would not condone any act of corruption and indiscipline.
Edah pledged his commitment to add more value to the management and welfare of pilgrims as well as provide first class services to the FCT contingents by ensuring hitch free Hajj operations.
He assured the staff his readiness to ensure their welfare is taking care of and called on them to show some level of commitment in handling pilgrims’ affairs and protect the image of the board and the FCT administration in general.
“Mallam Kadiri Edah is a season administrator who joined the services of the Federal capital Territory Administration in 1994 and served in various Departments and Agencies which include Education Resources Center (ERC), Legal Services Secretariat, Abuja environmental Protection Board and Department of Human Resources Management where he served as Head of Staff Welfare and Benefit between 2019 and 2023.
“He was promoted and deployed to the Secondary Education Board (SEB) as Director of Administration in 2023, the position he held until his recent appointment as Director of FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.
“Hail from Kogi state, Kadiri Edah is a graduate of Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto with a Bachelor of Science Degree (Bsc) in Management Studies in 1992”, the statement added.
