Senate receives Tinubu’s Ministerial picks for confirmation

Senate yesterday received the list of new ministerial nominees for confirmation sent in by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointment as cabinet members.
The request was contained in an executive communication addressed to President of the Senate , Senator Godswill Akpabio and read at the start of plenary Wednesday.
The presidential ministerial picks with their portfolios as announced by the Senate President includes Dr Nentawe Yilwatda ( Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction),
Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi , (Minister of Labour and Employment), Bianca Odinaka Odumegu – Ojukwu (Minister of State, Foreign Affairs), Dr Jumoke Oduwole (Minister of Industry , Trade and Development ), Idi Muktar Maiha ( Livestock Development)
Rt Hon Yusuf Abdullahi Ata (Minister of State, Housing) and Dr Suwaiba Said Ahmad ( Minister of State, Education).
Even though President Tinubu in the letter asked for expeditious consideration of his request by the Senate, the upper legislative will commence the exercise next week even as it referred the request to the committee of the whole.
