Bomb blast in Abuja mallBy Mashe Umaru Gwamna

Barely a week after last week’s Wednesday deadly blast at the corridor of EMAB Plaza, in Wuse, Abuja, that killed at least 21 people with several injured, most residents and shop owners have resumed their normal businesses  in the area.

Some of residents, who spoke to Peoples Daily, yesterday said their business is important to them and their respective family’s survival.

A fruit seller, Hassan Umar says; ‘’life must go on even though the blast was very unfortunate because it affected a lot of people who were looking for their daily bread.

“This goes to show that no matter what, we will not continue in fear, we have to go out and look for food for our family. At this Ramadan period, we want all Muslims to pray for peace in the Territory and the country at large.”

Another resident, Abel Joseph, said though people are still feeling the psychological effect of what happened, they must also be positive about life.

“We will not continue to lock ourselves indoors. We have to leave the past behind us so as not to hand over victory to the insurgents.

“We have our destiny in our own hands, and we must continue to conduct ourselves in a way that contradict their (insurgents) objectives and aspirations for the attacks,” he said.

A petty trader, Amaka Oriji, who said she lost some of her colleagues that she used to sell together, however said she believe that life must go.
