Reconsider Yiltawa’s appointment as humanitarian minister —Group urges Tinubu

Progressive Volunteer for Tinubu (PVT) Plateau State chamber has urged president Bola Ahmed Tinubu to reconsider the appointment of Nentawe Yiltawa as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
The appeal follows the agitation from different Civil Society groups, demanding the appointment of competent woman with proven track record of humanitarian initiatives to address current challenges posed on the country by the Tinubu’s policies.
Speaking at a press conference in Jos Plateau State on Saturday, the State Coordinator, PVT Plateau State Chapter, TN Timkat, ACA asserted that the Humanitarian Ministry should not be use as compensation for those who lost election.
He added that Nigeria at this critical juncture, requires a competent team to address the growing rates of poverty and challenges facing the nation, stressing that they will continue to voice out on the need for the appointment of woman as Minister Minister against the appointment of Nentawe Yiltawa.
“The Progressive Volunteers for Tinubu (PVT) Plateau State Chapter has convened this press conference to address a pressing concern regarding the recent appointment of Dr. Nentawe Goshewe as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs.
“As stalwart supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who worked tirelessly for his emergence in the 2023 General Elections, we are compelled to express our reservations about this appointment. Nigeria, at this critical juncture, requires a competent team to address the growing rates of poverty and challenges facing our nation.
“We strongly believe that the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs should not be utilized as a platform for political compensation for individuals who lost elections. Instead, appointments should be based on merit, expertise, and experience.
