Coalition of Female Council Students of Nigeria has expressed optimism that the newly appointed Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim, will use her past experiences to drive empowerment initiatives in the ministry.
The Coalition, in a press statement issued to newsmen in Kaduna on Friday, by its spokesperson Comrade Ubabatu Musa, said that the ministry under her leadership is in a safe hand, ready to leverage on past extensive achievements as Minister of State for Police Affairs to salvage the ministry.
Ubabatu added that the Women Affairs Ministry will enhance the lives of women, children, and people with special needs across Nigeria in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda,
She noted that her appointment by the presidency was in the right direction, stating that with Hon. Imaan as the ministry’s head of affairs, the presidency could sleep without any fear of damage.
“With Hon. Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim as the newly appointed Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, we are optimistic that she will remain committed to driving empowerment initiatives that will uplift the lives of women, children, and people with special needs across Nigeria.
“Leveraging on her experience and achievements from her previous role as Minister of State for Police Affairs, the Minister has briefed us that her leadership aims to promote community safety, strengthen social welfare services, and foster inclusive economic growth.
“The ministry led by Hon. Imaan, will focus on enhancing access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities for vulnerable groups, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“The Minister, in her quest for success, will also collaborate with non-governmental organizations, community leaders, and stakeholders to address social issues, promote gender equality, and protect the rights of women and children.
“With this, we all envision a new Nigeria where everyone has equal access to social, economic, and wealth creation opportunities, regardless of gender, age, or ability as the ministry will work tirelessly to make this vision a reality, ensuring that no one is left behind”, Ubabatu stressed.
It could be recalled that during her tenure as Minister of State for Police Affairs, Suleiman-Ibrahim made significant strides in promoting community safety and strengthening police-community relations, innovative policies that led to a notable reduction in crime rates and increased trust in law enforcement agencies, demonstrating her capacity for impactful governance.
