From David Hassan, Gombe

The ex governorship candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Gombe state Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki has decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Mailantarki who decamped alongside his supporters were recieved at the PDP secretariat by the officials of the Peoples Democratic Party at the weekend.
Following his resignation from NNPP in July this year, there was no authentic party to join untill Saturday he decided to join PDP.
While collecting his membership card at the PDP secretariat, Mailantarki said he joined PDP to help revitalise the party to unseat the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration in the state in 2027.
According to him, the All Progressives Congress at the federal and state level has not done enough as a government to tackle challenges facing the nation.
He insisted that the only party to deliver is the Peoples Democratic Party which he said has the requisite power to unseat APC in 2027.
