In less than two months to the end of the year, the Niger State House of Assembly has passed into law over N213 billion supplementary budget for 2024 fiscal year.
The house in addition also passed the 2024 proposed revised budget.
This is coming two month after the State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago had submitted the supplementary budget to the State House of Assembly for consideration and approval.
The passage of the supplementary budget was sequel to the consideration and adoption of the report of the House Standing Committee on Planning and Appropriation on the Supplementary Appropriation Bill of the state.
The House Committee chairman Zubairu Isma’ila during presentation at the planery highlighted the necessity of revising the budget to align with current economic realities, citing factors such as inflow of funds, the removal of fuel subsidy, N80,000 minimum wage, inflation, and the devaluation of the naira.
The analysis indicated that the budget represents recurrent expenditure of about thirty seven billion naira and capital of over one hundred and seventy six billion naira.
