One-time governor of Osun state and erstwhile national secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, yesterday met in a closed door meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan at the State House in Abuja.
Oyinlola, who addressed journalists after the closed door meeting, which lasted for about two hours, insisted that he remained the authentic national secretary of the PDP.
The former governor was led to the president’s office by the national chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu.
According to Oyinlola, he remains the PDP’s authentic national secretary; while Professor Wale Oladipo, who is currently occupying the position, is just a pretender.
“All I am telling you is that Oyinlola, in the face of the law, remains the authentic secretary of the PDP. Anybody in that office, for now, is a pretender”, Oyinlola said.
The former governor is said to be romancing with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
It was reliably gathered that Jonathan and Oyinlola brainstormed on how the PDP could win the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Osun State.
But Oyinlola said they only discussed how to move the fortunes of the PDP forward.
“I was taken to the Villa by the chairman of the party PDP, and we had some discussions as to how to move the fortunes of the party forward”, he said.
